This is a good common sense book for anyone who is or will be taking math classes. I have been doing self-study, so it doesn't do me much good at the moment, however, so be wary of that if you are not going to be working with a teacher.

I have to do this book as part of an elementary algebra class, it is incredibly stupid. The book assumes you have anxiety about math. It assumes you are afraid of asking questions, it assumes so much that if you're not choosing on your own to read this book and do the lessons it's very grating. It's impossible to take seriously. Every possible suggestion in the book are things I, and anyone that is actually self motivated, would do on my own. It's hard - impossible - to complete some of the lessons without just basically saying "I do this already" or "I don't have math anxiety!"
